Saimi Barragan Elected President of French Tech Toulon

A Bitcoin entrepreneur at the head of the Toulon tech ecosystem

This appointment reflects the local ecosystem’s confidence in the journey of an entrepreneur from the field, already deeply involved in the region’s major Web3 and Bitcoin initiatives (WE3 Boat, Web3 Studio, Tech on the Beach, and more).

Elected at an extraordinary general meeting, Saimi Barragan will take up his role as president of French Tech Toulon from this coming January, succeeding Malik Dahman.

Continuing the work of recent years, the new president wants to refocus French Tech Toulon’s action on « ultra-scalable » startups — technology companies with strong growth potential — while bringing along the players who support them (financing, mentoring, industry, services, etc.).

The goals:

• Accelerate the emergence of tech champions in the Toulon and Var area,
• Make it easier to access networks, financing and markets, particularly public ones,
• Strengthen the bridges between deeptech / Web3 / AI innovation and the local economy, in connection with TVT Innovation, the Toulon Provence Méditerranée metropolitan area and French Tech’s long-standing partners.
